Sue Weld's love of the sea is apparent in her simple and striking pastel and acrylic studies. The diversity of patterns seen from the waters edge provides her with a wealth of material to explore a range of colour combinations, compositions and moods. Her present preoccupation is with the constantly changing rhythm of the waves as they tumble and crash and break and run across the sand.
She says, " I use this fascination as a justification for spending hours on the beach watching the transitions from water to wet sand, wet sand to dry sand, and that point which the water just simply disappears..."
